Move to another phone

Main → Settings → Backup and Restore

A new phone shouldn’t mean a new inventory. In StoDo Simple the move is a backup and restore pair; in StoDo Online it’s just signing in — your data is already in the cloud and syncs down to the new device.

1. On the old phone, make the pair of backups in Settings → Backup and Restore: Backup database (one file with all your data) and Backup images (a .zip with the photos). With Premium cloud auto-backup, one tap on Backup now does both to the cloud instead.

2. Get the files across — cloud drive, e-mail to yourself, USB cable. Skip this step if you backed up to the cloud.

3. On the new phone, install StoDo, open Settings → Backup and Restore, and run Restore database, then Restore images. From the cloud: pick the same Cloud backup Google account and tap Restore from cloud — data and images together.

4. Walk through the app once: goods in place, recent operations there, photos showing. Then re-check the settings — see below.

Good to know

• App settings don’t travel. The backup file carries your data; preferences — My Company details, enabled fields, colors, scanner choice — live outside it. Set them up again on the new phone.
• Premium follows your Google account: sign in to Google Play with the same account, and your subscription or lifetime purchase applies on the new phone.
• Keep the old phone untouched until the new one checks out — it’s your fallback while you verify the move.
