Scan barcodes

A barcode is the fastest way to point at an item. Scanning does two jobs in StoDo: it finds items, and it fills operations.

  1. Give your items barcodes. In the item form, type the Barcode or scan it with the camera; an Excel import can bring barcodes in bulk. An item can have a barcode even if you never print one.

  2. Scan to find. The Scan barcode card on the main screen scans and opens the matching item. Inside Goods — and in the goods list that opens from an operation’s + — the search field has a barcode icon that does the same.

  3. Scan to fill an operation. In any operation, the Batch scan button turns the scanner into a conveyor: scan item after item without leaving the camera. After each scan the app either adds 1 or asks for the quantity — your choice, changeable in Settings → Barcode scanning.

Scanner types

The app has several scanner types — camera engines plus a mode for external hardware scanners (a USB or Bluetooth scanner that types what it reads). Pick the one that works best on your device in Settings → Barcode scanning; the same screen holds the after-scan behavior for batch mode.
